Why you might want it

Another widget is already in the lower right corner: a cookie settings tab, a back-to-top arrow, a different plugin’s bubble. Or your visitors are mostly left-handed, or your layout simply leaves more room on the left. Moving it is one setting, with no code and no theme file.

Distance from the edge

The Distance from the edge setting is in pixels, from 0 to 200, and it applies to both the side and the bottom. Twenty is the start. A larger number lifts the button off the bottom edge, which is the simplest way to clear a bar that sits there.

Right-to-left languages

Left and right are written in the stylesheet as the start and the end of a line. In a language that is read from right to left, such as Arabic or Hebrew, the sides swap with the rest of the page, so Right is where the end of the line is. You do not need to do anything for that.

What moves with it

The menu opens from the button toward the middle of the page, so it stays on the screen on either side. The words beside the button, the greeting and the lines in the menu keep their order.

If the button ends up under something instead of beside it, the layer setting is what decides which one is on top.
