How the number is written

Viber links carry the number with a plus, and the plus is encoded as %2B so that nothing between the page and the app mistakes it for a space. You do not need to do anything: type the number the way you write it, with spaces if you like, and the plugin does the rest.

Build the link and see what the plugin saves

Pick a channel, paste a number, a name or an address, and see exactly what Beckonbird would save and which link it would draw. Nothing you type leaves this page.

What a visitor gets

A visitor who has Viber on the device they are using gets the app, opened at a conversation with you. Because a viber:// link is not a web address, it opens in the same tab and the browser hands it over to the app. A visitor without Viber may see nothing happen, which is how every link of this kind behaves, so a Viber button belongs beside another channel rather than alone.

Who this is for

Viber is the everyday messenger in several countries and almost unknown in others. If your customers are in a place where it is common, a Viber line is worth a row. If you are unsure, a menu with a few channels lets the visitor choose without you guessing.

Same rules as the other numbers

A number has 7 to 15 digits, starts with the country code, and is refused if it begins with a single zero. The reasons are written out in the guide to link formats and country codes, which applies to Viber as well as WhatsApp.
