Why the plugin asks for a country code

A visitor may be in another country than you, and a number without its country code would dial the wrong place. Type +45 12 34 56 78, 0045 12 34 56 78 or paste the number the way you copied it, and the plugin saves it in one form. A number that starts with a single 0 is refused, with the reason, rather than guessed at.

Build the link and see what the plugin saves

Pick a channel, paste a number, a name or an address, and see exactly what Beckonbird would save and which link it would draw. Nothing you type leaves this page.

Phones only, from the start

A computer usually has nothing that can place a call, so a tap on a Phone line there would do nothing or open something unexpected. Phone starts as Phones only in the Shows on column. The split is a CSS rule at 768 pixels, not a guess about the device: a narrow browser window counts as a phone, and a tablet wider than that does not. You can change the choice for each channel.

What the call link does not do

It starts a call in whatever the phone uses for calls. It does not count calls, record them or know whether anyone answered. If you want to see how often the line was tapped, Pro counts clicks per channel; the Analytics event in the free plugin sends them to your own analytics.

One Phone line next to WhatsApp and Email gives visitors a choice without a crowd of buttons: several channels in one button.
